How is commercial electrical work different from residential?
Commercial sites carry higher and more varied loads, use more complex distribution and involve stricter compliance schedules. The work is also coordinated around trading hours, tenants and other contractors so the business keeps operating.
Do you work outside trading hours?
Yes. Where shutdowns or disruptive work would affect staff, customers or production, we schedule the work around trading hours and agreed access windows. Timing is confirmed during scoping so everyone knows when power or equipment will be unavailable.
Can you upgrade our premises to three-phase power?
Yes. We assess your existing supply, switchboard, maximum demand and the equipment you need to run. If an upgrade is appropriate, we coordinate the design, distributor requirements, metering, installation and commissioning.
Do you offer planned maintenance contracts?
Yes. Plans can include emergency lighting, test and tag, RCD testing, thermal imaging, switchboard inspections and priority fault response. We set the schedule according to your premises, operating hours and compliance requirements.
What is a Certificate of Compliance (CCEW) and when should I receive one?
A CCEW is the NSW record that electrical work has been tested and complies with the required standards. It must be submitted no later than seven days after the electrical test. Keep your copy with the premises records.
How often does emergency lighting need to be tested?
Emergency lighting and exit signs require routine inspection and maintenance under AS/NZS 2293.2, including six-monthly inspection and testing. Results are recorded for building and fire safety reporting.
Is test and tag mandatory for my business?
It depends on the workplace, equipment and level of electrical risk. Equipment used in a hostile operating environment requires inspection and testing, with intervals set by conditions and use. We can assess your premises and establish an appropriate schedule.
We have received a defect notice. Can you rectify it?
Yes. Send us the notice and any supporting photos or reports. We inspect the affected installation, complete and test the repairs, then provide the records needed for closure.
